Good Landing Recovery helps patients with our holistic approach to substance abuse treatment. We understand that treating the physical body is not enough. We also treat the mind and spirit or soul of the patient. By working through what addiction has done and how it has affected a patient’s mind, body, and soul, the patient will become better equipped to deal with temptation and avoid relapse. Regardless of what they’re addicted to or for how long they’ve been using, we can help.
At GLR, we treat the mind with counseling strategies that meet addiction and its surrounding behaviors head-on. It’s vital that an addict learn to identify the thoughts and patterns that lead them to abuse drugs and alcohol. Only by identifying these thoughts, learning why they occur, and developing healthy ways of changing or accepting them can a person truly overcome their addiction.
We treat the body with sound nutrition and exercise to replace unhealthy habits and restore vigorous health. Patients at Good Landing will enjoy exercise courses and work with nutrition experts to learn how to get the vitamins and minerals their bodies need. We also help our patients get through the detox process, which can be incredibly difficult.
We treat the soul and spirit with prayer and pastoral concern, walking through each struggle with our clients, and celebrating every victory with them. We use the Bible as a guide for living a spiritual life and the grace of God to light the way to sobriety. Through prayer and worship, we believe anyone can overcome the demons of addiction.
Here at Good Landing, we recognize that no two patients are alike. Even those who have similar struggles have lived different lives. There’s no one-size-fits-all substance abuse treatment. When a patient comes to us for treatment for addiction, one of the first things we do is sit down and talk to them. We need an honest accounting of what they’ve been through so we can create a personalized recovery plan. For some, this may include a focus on family therapy and conflict resolution. For others, we may need to treat a co-occurring condition such as PTSD. No matter what a patient needs, we’re here to help, and we will do everything we can to ensure they receive the treatment they need.
When someone comes to us for substance abuse treatment, we can provide help in two different ways. The first is partial hospitalization. This process is a hybrid of inpatient and outpatient treatment. The patient comes to Good Landing in the morning and stays until the late evening. Then they return home to sleep. They have the weekends free to do whatever they like. This makes the rehab process more affordable and gives the patient more freedom while still providing an intensive form of addiction treatment.
For outpatient rehab, we help our patients who have other responsibilities. They may need to continue working or going to school while seeking treatment. Some have family members to care for. These patients come to Good Landing during specific times for therapy and other treatment. This form of help is less intensive, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t effective. It is, and for some, it’s actually a better fit than partial hospitalization.
For both forms of treatment, we use a combination of both individual and group therapy. In individual therapy, patients are guided through their past with drugs in order to determine why they started using. Our counselors help them determine what pushes them to use and to craft positive ways of dealing with those factors. In group therapy, patients share their stories and provide support for each other. By holding one another up, patients find newfound strength in themselves.
There’s no shame in asking for help, especially when it’s with something like drug addiction. We’re here to offer substance abuse treatment to anyone who asks without judgment. If your loved one is battling addiction, please talk to them about Good Landing. We can provide you with ideas for how to begin that difficult conversation and with other ways you can help your loved one without enabling them. Please reach out to us today so your loved one can begin the journey to sobriety.
