Four Pillars

The Pillars of Faith-Based Recovery

The road to recovery from drug and alcohol addiction is one that a person walks for the rest of their life. With the support of a faith-based recovery program, that road can be walked joyfully in an environment based on forgiveness and the restorative healing only Christ can provide.

Good Landing’s success in facilitating and supporting your walk to recovery is grounded in four pillars:

An Atmosphere of Faith

“For nothing will be impossible with God.” – Luke 1:37

Addiction and recovery are spiritual issues, and it’s through faith that people experience real and lasting transformation. Our program’s life-giving, supercharged atmosphere of faith is designed to promote and support change.

An Overcoming Spirit

“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” – Philippians 4:13

Drug and alcohol addiction takes a heavy toll on life. So often, those suffering from addiction are beaten down to the point that they give up, thinking their condition is permanent. Together, the men served at Good Landing develop an overcoming spirit. This restorative power of resurrection is what it takes to beat addiction and become empowered to live a successful life.

A Strong Body

“Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?” – 1 Corinthians 6:19 NKJV

Our bodies are given to use by God for His glory, and must be handled with care. Addiction can have lasting effects on the body, so it must be prepared and strengthened for the recovery process. By focusing on physical fitness, we make sure you are in excellent shape upon exiting our program.

The Process

“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.” – Romans 12:2 ESV

False belief systems feed the grip of addiction. By determining what those are in your life, we can destroy them. These things do not happen overnight — the road to recovery takes time. We will work through whatever toxic beliefs and behaviors are keeping you in bondage, giving you a lasting recovery grounded in spiritual fortitude.

Our Holistic Approach

Our process treats the mind, body, and soul. Through a spiritual awakening, counseling, and physical fitness, you can overcome the hold addiction has on the three parts of your being. If you fail to treat one of these areas, addiction can slowly creep back into your life. Our holistic approach will fully heal you and help you recover from substance addiction.

How Is Christian Addiction Treatment
Different From Other Programs?

Christian addiction treatment is similar to secular addiction treatment. However, the difference comes from how Good Landing brings spiritual awareness and faith into recovery. We believe by putting your faith in Christ, He will lead you to sobriety. We extend our hand in fellowship, inviting you to join us in worship and prayer in addition to the evidence-based treatment methods we use to help you address your addiction.

Typically, the staff and treatment team at a Christian rehab share your faith. They will help you face your addiction through Bible study and daily prayer as well as counseling, group therapy, and other forms of treatment. All of these things happen regardless of whether we’re involved with drug rehab, alcohol rehab, outpatient or inpatient.

The Recovery Process

When you come to Good Landing, you may be nervous not knowing what to expect. We’ve put together a short outline of what your Christian addiction treatment program will entail so you won’t be as anxious. We know that anxiety is one of the reasons people abuse substances, so we want to remove that temptation.

First, you’ll go through an assessment. This evaluation will be done by both a medical expert and a therapist so we understand where you are physically and mentally. This will help our team put together a personalized program that addresses all of your needs. We will ask you for information during this assessment, and it’s vital that you’re completely honest with us. If you’re not, we can’t adequately address your addiction.

Next, you’ll go through the detox process. This is the physical process of drugs leaving your system. It can be intense, and in some cases, it can be dangerous. Withdrawal symptoms can actually lead to death in extreme cases. The length and severity of your detox will depend on what drugs you used and how long you have used them.

Third, you will enter into Christian addiction treatment. This program will work to treat the causes of your addiction through physical, mental, and spiritual care based on our four pillars. You’ll work one-on-one with counselors, attend group sessions, and may even have family counseling. You’ll work to identify your triggers and form a plan for dealing with those triggers. You will learn to reach out to Christ in your times of need and how your faith can shield you from addiction.

Finally, once you complete your Good Landing recovery program, you’ll move into our aftercare plan. You’ll leave with a strategy for staying sober long-term. This may include finding a 12-step program, continuing with therapy, or finding a Christian support group near you. We want you to leave Good Landing knowing that you’re not alone. God is with you every step of your path to sobriety, and we are, too.

Make the Choice to Embrace Sobriety

If you’re tired of all of the pain and suffering addiction brings, it’s time to make the choice to embrace sobriety with a Christian addiction treatment plan. You’re the only one who can make that choice. Once you do, we hope you’ll reach out to us. We’re here to give you the tools and the faith you need to remain sober for the rest of your life.
