The Recovery Process
When you come to Good Landing, you may be nervous not knowing what to expect. We’ve put together a short outline of what your Christian addiction treatment program will entail so you won’t be as anxious. We know that anxiety is one of the reasons people abuse substances, so we want to remove that temptation.
First, you’ll go through an assessment. This evaluation will be done by both a medical expert and a therapist so we understand where you are physically and mentally. This will help our team put together a personalized program that addresses all of your needs. We will ask you for information during this assessment, and it’s vital that you’re completely honest with us. If you’re not, we can’t adequately address your addiction.
Next, you’ll go through the detox process. This is the physical process of drugs leaving your system. It can be intense, and in some cases, it can be dangerous. Withdrawal symptoms can actually lead to death in extreme cases. The length and severity of your detox will depend on what drugs you used and how long you have used them.
Third, you will enter into Christian addiction treatment. This program will work to treat the causes of your addiction through physical, mental, and spiritual care based on our four pillars. You’ll work one-on-one with counselors, attend group sessions, and may even have family counseling. You’ll work to identify your triggers and form a plan for dealing with those triggers. You will learn to reach out to Christ in your times of need and how your faith can shield you from addiction.
Finally, once you complete your Good Landing recovery program, you’ll move into our aftercare plan. You’ll leave with a strategy for staying sober long-term. This may include finding a 12-step program, continuing with therapy, or finding a Christian support group near you. We want you to leave Good Landing knowing that you’re not alone. God is with you every step of your path to sobriety, and we are, too.
